Shit shot was originally made for 's weblog project "Mains d'oeuvres". This concept is really wonderfully thought. You put a photo of your hands and an artistic work of yours that represent your personnality or style.

Go and take photos before I bite your head off :3
I didn't planned to put this photo on DA but I quite like it. It would make a nice alternative ID.
Two of the things I love the most : Drawing and Music...
Guess what magazine is it :3 ?
i love the idea of photographing only the hand of the artist with a drawing of not... It tells alot about the person. More than any face photograph would..
My hands are rachitic, I have stumps in place of my nails, they are some greyish color :/ But still They are my hands. Plus.... Flute playing doesn't harm them too much XP
Flute nice ah to tell you the truth im a tom boy and keeping myself prissy and cute is not a priority live life as it comes, we don't have enough time inthe world to make ourselves look nice. just enough time to make paper look good to leave behind. I guess.
Well.. In this particular drawing you can see some sketchy lines.
When I'm going this kind of drawing, I usually start with a 2H pencil making random dynamic lines and starting to put some shapes but with really smooth strokes. Once I decided of the pause and stuff I take a 0.35/0.5 H/2H mechanical pencil. (they do not allow large and dynamic strokes but they are pretty precise and gives the drawing a very clean look). I a add some shading I use different mechanical pencils, h then HB and B etc etc.... So it is still quite clean.
But I use this technique mainly for sketches I'm going to color digitally. Kind of traditionnal media lineart technique.
At the end I use an HB or even B mechanical pencil or cutter sharpened pencil to empasize some lines. that all :3
Well, thank you for all this information! I normally just use a mechanical pencil for my drawings, but I haven't tried any of the other pencils. Since I don't use any digital methods of coloring my drawings, this is rather good to know. Again, thank you very much; I really appreciate it.
Well with or without difital coloring the technique is nice...
I don't really like when My hand is covered by pencil powder and the sketch goes messy...
But of course this technique is not really good for quick sketches and life drawing.
You loose some life and spontaenity...
