and I recently contributed to a french-japanese vocabulary textbook, by my former teacher Frédéric Barazer. It was published last month by Ellipses Editions. We did two covers and about 20 black and white illustrations.
This is the first cover proposition made according to the author's description, sadly it was rejected because the attitude of the cat (lazily sitting with food) didn't send the right message according to the commercials.
I posted this one because, well, it is quite cute and I actually prefer it to the second cover (validated) and prefer it a lot to the final printed version. Which....Went through the hands of a graphist particularly obsessed with the ctrl, c and v keys.
That said, you can order the book from amazon through this link : [link]
And also see more images from the book on my blog here : [link]
The book itself is great. It has a lot of information, is easy to use and has a nice presentation. Working on it wasn't that fun. Also partially because at the same time flo and I were working full time at Ubisoft india and it didn't leave us with much free time. It's also true neither of us are big fans of black and white work.
Yeah. If you put aside the fact my plane landed in a meadow, that I spent one night puking guts&blood and got bad allergies because of the pollution. Well, that and no rain for 9 months.. Otherwise it was awesome.
